Why it Matters

Access to healthcare, jobs and essential services has never been more predominant. While transit is the backbone of this access for millions of people, vast areas of the state are not accessible to transit, nor is it practical to provide transit in these areas.  Mobility Managers help bring the people who need the rides together with the people who can provide rides with those who can potentially fund rides to create innovative, community-based solutions by identify gaps in services, coordinating existing resources and developing new programs when needed..

Older adults, people with disabilities, and the working poor are the most isolated without access to affordable transportation solutions.  Transportation is the glue binding all other social determinants of health (housing, healthcare, education, employment, food.)

Working together

NYSAMM wants your voice at the table.  Working together we can leverage our resources to have an even greater impact on the communities we serve, regionally, and on a state level.

How much you participate is your decision.

NYSAMM will be offering educational opportunities, a forum for networking, and sharing of resources that can help you in the work that you do.  We also encouraged you to share this information with others that are working on mobility in your area.
